Privacy Policy

Effective Date: February 5, 2026

LynkDog ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our backlink monitoring platform, including our website, applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information in several ways depending on how you interact with the Service:

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Account Registration Data: When you create an Account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form). If you sign up through a third-party authentication provider (e.g., Google, GitHub), we receive your name, email, and profile identifier from that provider.
  • Organization Data: If you create or join an Organization, we collect the organization name, and we associate your Account with other team members' Accounts within that Organization.
  • Backlink and Project Data: To provide our core monitoring service, we collect the source URLs, target URLs, anchor texts, and any optional notes or tags you associate with your backlinks. We also store the date each backlink was added and track its status history (active, removed, anchor changed, nofollow, pending).
  • Contact Information for Backlinks: You may optionally provide contact details (name, email) associated with specific backlinks for your own reference (e.g., the contact person at the linking website). This data is stored to facilitate your outreach efforts.
  • Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details (such as credit card number, expiration date, and CVV) are collected and processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, Inc. We receive only limited transaction information from Stripe, such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and billing address, for record-keeping and fraud prevention purposes. We do not store complete credit card numbers on our servers.
  • Communications: If you contact us for support or other inquiries, we may retain the content of those communications along with your contact information.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, actions taken (e.g., creating projects, adding backlinks), timestamps, and session duration.
  • Device and Browser Information: We collect information about the device and browser you use to access the Service, including IP address, operating system, browser type and version, device identifiers, and screen resolution.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your browsing activity. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help us improve the Service and your experience. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings, but disabling cookies may affect your ability to use certain features of the Service.
  • Log Data: Our servers automatically record information ("Log Data") created by your use of the Service, including requests, IP addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, and timestamps. This data is used for security, troubleshooting, and analytics purposes.

1.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Authentication Providers: If you authenticate using a third-party provider (e.g., SSO services), we receive profile information authorized by that provider.
  • Payment Processor: We receive transaction confirmations and limited payment method details from Stripe.

2. How We Use Your Information

3.2 Within Your Organization

If you are part of an Organization, other members of that Organization (particularly administrators) may have access to your activity, projects, and backlink data within the scope of that Organization. This access is governed by the Organization's internal policies and the role-based permissions configured within the Service.

3.3 Legal Requirements and Protection

We may disclose your information if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, including investigation of potential violations.

  • Protect the rights, property, or safety of LynkDog, our users, or the public.

3.4 Business Transfers

If LynkDog is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on the Service of any change in ownership or uses of your information.

3.5 With Your Consent

We may share your information for other purposes with your explicit consent.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your Account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We may also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements.

Backlink data and historical logs are retained for the duration of your Subscription to provide you with historical insights. Upon Account termination, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period (typically 90 days), except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as maintaining financial records.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Encryption: Data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL. Sensitive data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 or equivalent.
  • Access Controls: Access to personal information is restricted to employees and contractors who need it to perform their job functions, subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
  • Infrastructure Security: Our infrastructure is hosted on reputable cloud platforms with robust physical and network security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and DDoS protection.
  • Regular Audits: We conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.

Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Service at your own risk.

6. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country in which you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other jurisdictions where we operate.

Where required by law, we implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission or other legally recognized mechanisms.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under applicable data protection laws (such as the GDPR, CCPA, or other regional privacy regulations):

7.1 Access and Portability

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and to receive a copy of that information in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format.

7.2 Correction

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information provided in Section 11 below. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Privacy Policy on this page with a new "Effective Date" and, where appropriate, by sending an email to the address associated with your Account.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any updated Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
